Track the job your crew is doing.

When work belongs to a cost code, work order, or repair ticket, the hours should stay with it. Your team taps to start, stop, or switch jobs in a browser. You see the employee labor hours against the work, without collecting and retyping paper timesheets.

One manager and one employee included free. No app installation or employee email address required.

Use the names your team recognizes

A job number can mean the work you already do.

Add your existing cost code, work order, or repair ticket as the job number. These examples show how a job list could look; they are not customer results.

Construction cost codes

C-210 · Formwork
Employees choose the job or cost code they are working on. When someone moves to the next task, they switch job cards so the next stretch of labor belongs to that work.

Cleaning work orders

WO-0840 · North wing cleaning
Give each work order a recognizable job name. Each crew member records their own hours, so two people working for an hour contribute two labor hours to the work order.

Automotive repair tickets

RO-1874 · Brake service
Use the repair ticket as the job number. Technicians switch to the next ticket when the work changes, and can add a note when waiting for parts or explaining a delay.

A short setup

Put the next few jobs on the board.

Bring your current job list.

Add job numbers and names individually, or import a CSV or XLSX spreadsheet. Match the columns to MinuteMill’s job fields, preview the list, and save the mapping to reuse with the same file format next time.

Try it with one employee.

Create an invitation and share the setup link. Employees choose a password and sign in using a shop code and username; they do not need an email address. Practice starting one job, switching to another, and stopping for a break. Review the first day together before inviting the rest of the crew.

Review the hours while the work is fresh.

Filter by date, employee, and job. Read notes about delays, review the daily email recap, or export the hours as CSV. Add optional hourly labor costs to see recorded labor cost alongside the hours. Those records can help you review similar work before preparing the next quote.

Check the connection where your crew works.

Starting, stopping, switching jobs, and saving notes require an internet connection. If coverage drops, the current timer keeps running on the server; MinuteMill does not queue offline starts or stops. Reconnect and confirm the saved job status before moving on.

Closing the browser or locking a phone keeps the timer running. At the end of the job, a break, or the end of the day, employees need to tap Stop.

Keep labor hours with the job.

MinuteMill records employee time against a job. It does not provide GPS verification, crew dispatch, route planning, payroll calculations, or machine-time tracking. Cost codes and ticket numbers are job labels here, rather than a full estimating or work-order management system.

If your team mainly needs to answer “How much employee time went into this job?”, try a few real jobs and review whether the routine fits. If you need field scheduling or payroll connections too, our comparisons with Workyard, Hubstaff, and ClockShark explain those differences.

What if someone forgets to stop?

A manager can correct the entry and leave a reason. The original start and stop times are retained. Employees can add notes, but cannot edit their recorded times.

The getting started guide covers setup, invitations, notes, and reviewing the first day. You can also ask us about your workflow.
